Zambia's Kariba dam has recorded its lowest water levels despite frequent rainfall received in most parts of the country.

Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) released its latest statistics indicating that the country's main source of hydro-electricity power was now at 17 percent compared to the 32 percent during the same period in 2015.

Earlier statistics released in January indicated that the dam's water levels dropped to as low as 11 percent, due to erratic rains received this past rainy season, …

The Central African Republic -CAR- says it will engage the United Nations -UN- to create more space for Zambian Solders to serve in peace keeping mission because of the impact that the troops have had in that country.

The Zambian government intends to increase its number of troops deployed under the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Mission in Mozambique.

Defence Permanent Secretary Norman Chipakupaku says the seven troops who have been deployed alongside a Zambia Air Force aircraft, are doing a commendable job by supporting regional efforts to fight the insurgency in the Cabo Delgado Province.

Speaking after he visited the Zambian troops in the Mozambican town of Pemba, Mr Chipakupaku said Zambia will increase its troops numbers soon.
